Welcome ~ to Monroe ClayWorks and working in clay.  Starting March 1st you are all welcome to come to the studio and work anytime we are open.  The entire studio is open to you anytime we are not having classes.  Currently Mary LaFleur has classes Tuesday mornings from 10 til 12:30 and Thursday evenings from 6 until 8:30.  I have class Wednesday evenings from 6 until 8:30.  Below are the hours you are welcome to come and work in clay and use the library.

Tuesdays 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Wed.         10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Thurs.        10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Fridays      10 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Saturdays  10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Any time there are classes you can work in the Members Room ~ so you can stay until class ends at 8:30!

If you have not signed a Membership Agreement and paid please call/see Mary or Dennis.  Membership begins this coming Saturday, March 1.

You are welcome to come in anytime this week and bring tools, etc. and work in clay.  I’ll be moving a wheel into the Members Room this afternoon.

Our first firing will be in April (I decided March was too soon ~ the snow will probably still be piled up outside).  First firing will be a pit fire on Friday April 11 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.   Monroe ClayWorks Members can bring 3 bisque pieces for the firing ~ maximum size is

12″ x 12″.  There is no cost for firing the first three pieces ~ any additional pieces are $5 each.

Our first Second Saturday mini-workshops will be on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. until noon and I’ll be demonstrating throwing miniatures and talking about the how-tos of making miniatures.  Second Saturday mini-workshops are free for Monroe ClayWorks Members.

Our first show of the year will be on Saturday, May 17th, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.  There is no charge for Monroe ClayWorks Members.  If you want to participate in the May Show please let me know asap.

Welcome everyone ~ starting Saturday we’ll be up and running.  It is an exciting time and I can’t wait to see everyone’s work!
