Working with dull tools is a drag! Dan demonstrated how simple and useful it is to sharpen up potter’s knives and trimming tools. Dan also trimmed pots on the wheel using sharp tools and sharing a few trimming tricks. Dan talked about making tools and showed many of his shop-made pottery tools such as ribs, loops, knives, and paddles. Loop tools can be made from piano wire and then epoxied into bamboo fly rod handles. Hacksaw blades and dental drills can be put to use as well.
